Haunted
To look is okay
To see is beautiful

I walked
But rarely saw
the beauty of life

I lived
haunted by a past
it threatened
to overtake
the future

I never once
took my dream
and embraced it
to my heart

But now I see
A future
Bright and beautiful
Unshadowed by
the past

And now I believe
in my dreams
I embrace them
Believe in them
And myself

I now must walk
Alone
Without the chains
That shackle me

I must release
the past
and claim
The future

Which by right
Belongs to me
